BOOK WEEK EXHIBITION

The week long Book Week Celebrations culminated into Holiday Homework Exhibition, the theme for which was “Creating Effective Learning Spaces: Connecting the Head, Hand and Heart”. Dr. Rajni Kumar, Chairperson Springdales Education Society inaugurated the exhibition and congratulated the students and teachers for their extraordinary display of art and craft work .

The exhibition showcased the Holiday and Class projects of the students on various sub–themes like adolescence, media, social networking, harmony etc. Over 250 Principals and teachers of NPSC schools across Delhi visited the exhibition. Many book stalls were put up so that the children would choose they would like to read.

The 67th Anniversary of the Atomic Bombing was commemorated with an Inter- School Peace assembly, organized in collaboration with the Coalition for Nuclear Disarmament and Peace – an organization committed to critique of the nuclear agenda and engagement with peace building activities among the youth.

Mr. Yugo Horikawa, Third Secretary, Embassy of Japan; Mr. PrafulBidwaisenior journalist and Mrs. VidyaRao, eminent classical vocalist, were present to be a part of the initiative. The guests lauded the effort as a step towards peace and expressed the need to understand the unity of human existence.Mrs. AmeetaMullaWattal reiterated the need to resolve conflicts by building a peaceful world free of weapons, wars and conflicts.Song, dance and elocution presentations were made by participating students from eight schools. The students also prepared Peace Boards and were awarded certificates for their efforts.

   
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

Sixty six years of Indian independence were celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in a special assembly. Shri M.K. Raina, renowned theatre personality and activist was the chief guest for the occasion.

The highlight of the programme was Azaadi Ka Safar , a ballet presented by students, tracing the history of the freedom movement right from the revolt of 1857. Sarita Gupta Scholarship for 2012-13 was given to Bhawna Mehdiratta XIB, Saras Das XIA, Neeraj Yadav XIB, Gaurav Kashyap XIC.
