Springdales School, Pusa Road held its 57th Annual Day and Prize Giving Ceremony.

The annual school report was read by the principal and the school prefects, which was followed by the prize giving ceremony. The highlight of the event was the ballet, ‘We the People’, performed by our five hundred students from classes VI-XII. The presentation examined the complexity of the relationship between the individual and the community; the state and the nation through dance, mime, drama and music.

The Chief Guest, Shri Sitaram Yechury commended the achievements of the students and was highly impressed with the variety of activities that gave Springdales its unique niche in the field of Education.

The Springdales Most Distinguished Alumni award was presented to Dr. Naveen Talwar by Dr. Rajni Kumar, Chairperson , Springdales Education Society. On the occasion she also announced the opening of Springdales in Dubai.

Mrs. Loomba, Manager, Springdales School Pusa Road, Major General Narender Singh, Chairman, Springdales, Pusa Road and other dignitaries along with the parents also graced the occasion.


Springdales School, Pusa Road organised a Leadership and Human Rights Convention on 11 December 2012 in association with the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan. The inter- school event saw the participation of 9 schools.

The Keynote address was delivered by Senior Journalist, Mr. Paranjoy Guha Thakurta who expressed the view that introspection and a pro- active approach on the part of the privileged few would ensure justice and the fulfillment of Human Rights in the world.

The Chief Guest for the event was Mrs. Kiran Mehra Kerpelman , Director UNIC- India and Bhutan. She appreciated the cultural items presented and thanked the school for organizing the event. In her address she also outlined the theme for this years observance-"Inclusion and the right to participate in public life"
 and shared the UN Secretary General, Mr. Ban Kim Moons address.

The welcome address was delivered by Mrs. Anita Luthra, Academic Supervisor, Springdales School, Pusa.

In the Group Discussion on -"Inclusion and the right to participate in public life" participants voiced their concerns about human rights violations in different parts of the world and put forth their views on the way to bring about the involvement of marginalized groups and communities in the public sphere. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Nirmalya Samanta, Associative Professor of English University of Delhi and Mrs. Rineeta Naik, Assistant Information Officer, UNIC . the participants drew up A Vision Statement for Human Rights.

 The interactive session Celebrating Human Rights with Inspirational Music, visuals and Verse was conducted by Mrs. Ameeta Mulla Wattal who engaged the students through dialogue and poetry. The participants expressed themselves on the canvas as Mr. Susmit Bose provided inspiring messages through the medium of music.

The Inter-School event aimed at creating consciousness and concern for safeguarding Human Rights and making the students appreciate their responsibility towards the community.

The  Annual Winter Carnival was a colourful, funfilled event with games and crafts stalls and a sumptuous variety of eats While glam quotient struck a high with the Fashion Show, which saw the participation of students, staff  and  parents  all sashaying down the ramp, the Baby Show was a huge success.
